This painting, My Last Leonardo, #mylastleonardo, a replica of the Salvator Mundi created by Leonardo da Vinci, was completed on 07 August 2025 by John Marshall in Stoney Creek, Ontario Canada, setting a new standard for most exact replica painting ever created in the 21st Century. Having completed My First Leonardo, The Mona Lisa,  I was fascinated by the history and story of the world's most expensive painting.  Back in the late 60s, I studied art in Paris and Dublin Ireland and was captivated by the Impressionist Gallery and particularly the Louvre. Just like everyone else, a must was to view Leonardo's greatest picture, which turned out to be unimpressive in size, but fascinating in allure. After 50 years, it is still the most valuable painting and the most alluring masterpiece of Leonardo's 15 known creations.

Dear John, "Very many thanks. A number of "artists have tried. It looks like a very good effort! Leonardo’s later works are the hardest of all to emulate. John Marshall has done an unusually good job”.

Best wishes,

Martin
